AI video editor on Android: your phone is the computer

Transcribe, clean up with your own OpenAI key, stabilize, reframe to 9:16 and export on the GPU from the phone itself. No PC, no credits, no cloud minutes: the raw footage never leaves your Android.

No PC

What changes when the phone does the heavy lifting

Mobile AI editing apps upload your video to a server, process it there and bill you per minute or per credit. Max Editor does the opposite: the phone transcribes, cleans up, stabilizes, reframes and exports with its own processor and GPU.

Real problem

You filmed on the phone and want to publish today. Uploading an hour of video to the cloud takes time, burns credits, and the raw footage ends up on someone else's server. And if the PC isn't around, the project waits.

How Max Editor solves it

The app reads the video straight from the gallery, transcribes it on the phone (local whisper), proposes sequences and cleans up with your OpenAI key, stabilizes and reframes to 9:16, and exports with the device's hardware encoder. Only lightweight proxies are uploaded to back up the project.

How it works

  1. Install the Max Editor app for Android and sign in.
  2. Pick the video from the gallery: it's transcribed on the phone, never uploaded.
  3. Edit by deleting words, accept the proposed sequences, choose framing and caption style.
  4. Export on the GPU and publish; continue the same project on the PC if you want.

Expected outcome

  • A clean show and vertical clips from the phone, no PC.
  • Zero credits and zero cloud minutes: a flat monthly fee.
  • The raw footage never leaves your Android.

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit videos with AI using only my phone, without a PC?
Yes. The Max Editor app for Android transcribes on the phone itself, cleans up with your OpenAI key, stabilizes, reframes to vertical and exports using the device GPU. A PC with Max Companion is optional, for more power or to use the camera.
Is the video uploaded to the cloud to be processed?
No. The original file is read from the gallery and processed on the phone. Only lightweight proxies and metadata are uploaded to back up the project and open it from another device.
Which phone do I need?
A recent Android with free space for the project. GPU export uses the phone's hardware encoder; on devices without support it falls back to software, slower but with the same result.
How much does AI cost on the phone?
Transcription, reframe, stabilization and export use no AI: they run on the phone. Only cleanup and thematic sequences use OpenAI with your own key, at list price with no markup (about $1.30 per hour of footage on our projects).
Can I start on the phone and continue on the PC?
Yes. The project stays in sync; open the same sequence in the web editor on the PC and pick up where you left off. Phone and PC share the heavy work depending on which one is online.

What is Max Editor

You recorded an hour-long show. Walk out with the clean cut and the vertical clips, without editing a timeline.

Max Editor transcribes, finds the best moments, removes filler and repetition, builds the sequences and reframes them to vertical with captions. You edit by deleting words. The heavy lifting runs on your PC or your Android: no credits, no cloud minutes.

  1. Import & transcribe. Drag in your video or paste a YouTube link. It's transcribed word by word on your own PC or phone, with exact per-word timing.
  2. AI builds your sequences. The editor reads the script and proposes ready-made thematic sequences: it groups the best moments by topic, with no manual assembly.
  3. Refine by text. Delete fillers, silences and repetitions by selecting text. AI cleanup trims the video for you, keeping the pace.
  4. Reframe, captions & export. Vertical 9:16 reframe tracking the subject, 24 caption styles, AI-suggested B-roll and batch export. Ready for YouTube, TikTok or Reels.
